French beaches that accept dogs

Wondering where to spend your holidays this summer? Do you want to swim and enjoy the beach while taking your dog? Here is a list – not exhaustive – of the cities of France whose beaches accept dogs. Here we list the places we received confirmation that it was possible to walk with a dog. 


  • The Pyla sur Mer and its beach of South Salie
  • Mimizan and its beaches Gulls, Wings and North Corniches
  • Moliets-et-Maa with its beaches Central and Cork Oaks
  • Soustons, beaches of Cousteuyers, Belambra, Port d’Albret, North and Océane
  • Vielle-Saint-Girons, on the beaches of Saint Girons and Lette Blanche


  • Hillon, on its beaches of the Grandville, the Hospitality, the Good Shelter and the Strike of Fonteneau allows the dogs to walk from September to April
  • Hirel
  • Kerlouan also allows animals to circulate on its beach of Boutrouilles outside of summer
  • Lanmadez with its beaches of Traezh Coalen, Beg Sable, Porz Guyon and Beg Mélard Creek
  • Plouharnel and its white sand beaches, Maré Guen, Mentor, Guérite, Ty Hoche and Sainte Barbe
  • Trébeurden and its beaches of Toens, Goastreiz and Gois


  • Palasca on the beach of Ostriconi, Cala di Recisa and Anse de Vana
  • Porto-Vecchio with the beaches of Santa Giulia, Folacca, Acciaju, Tamaricciu, Carataggio, Porto Novo and Palombaggia


  • Cabourg and its beach
  • Cricqueboeuf and his beach
  • Luc-sur-Mer. The beach of the East Dike is reserved for dogs, they can walk there freely, except for the summer period. Find here the report that we devoted to the city.
  • Ouistreham at Riva Bella Beach
  • Pirou, on the beaches of La Bergerie, Cale Louis Robert and Armanville
  • Ravenoville at the beach of Dunes
  • Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer, whose beach is accessible outside summer canidés
  • Vierville-sur-Mer and its beach West of Omaha Beach, on which animals can frolic before 9am in the morning and after 18h in the evening

  • Argelès-sur-Mer and its beaches of Marenda and Racou

  • Leucate and its beaches of Coussoules, Mouret and Aqualand

Nord Pas de Calais

  • Berck and its beaches of the Terns and the North
  • Le Touquet-Paris-Plage with its beaches of the Bay of Canche, South and Dunes
  • Leffrinckoucke and its beach, out of summer
  • Oye-Plage on its beaches Hemmes, Escardines and Shelter Coastal
  • Wissant, on the beach of Dune d’Aval, from September to April

Pays de la Loire

  • Notre-Dame-de-Monts on the Regatta and Murier beaches outside of summer
  • Saint-Jean-de-Monts accepts dogs from September to April on the beaches of Petit Sochard, Tonelle, Parée du Jonc and Davière

Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur

  • Cagnes-sur-Mer on its Hippodrome beach
  • Cap d’Ail on its beach Pointe des Douaniers Est
  • Cassis, where the creeks of Port-Miou welcome dogs outside of summer
  • Frejus on the beach Escalamandes
  • Ile de Lérins-Saint-Honorat in its coves of the Tonnelle, Saint Michel, Trinité, Saint Féréol, Saint Caprais, Saint Sauveur de Saint Pierre, and on the beaches of Fort Abbey and the Harbor
  • Ile de Lérins-Sainte-Marguerite on its creeks and beaches
  • Chin on the beach for dogs and Casino

  • Roquebrune Cap-Martin on the beaches of the Blue Gulf and the Pool
  • Saint-Laurent-du-Var on the beach of the Port
  • Saint Raphael on the rocks
